Our interpreters
Our interpreters deal in subject matter where lives can be at stake.
Our Screening, Credentialing, and on-going review process reflect
that responsibility.
OPI’s testing, training and credentialing
of interpreters is greatly weighted toward the industries in which
we specialize: Medical, Court, 911 calls, and Government Operations.
Optimal goes well beyond the industry standard
of relying on resume histories and a written test to evaluate the
qualifications of a prospective interpreter. At OPI,
we test and scrutinize our interpreters strictly based on their
ability to orally interpret in the language pair they specialize
in. Although we utilize an ongoing training program and Quality
Plan for existing interpreters, we normally do not accept applicants
that do not already have a verifiable work history of language interpretation.
OPI interpreters are submitted to a rigorous credentialing
process to ensure that they fully understand the concepts most vital
to successful interpretation. Before an interpreter is placed on
the line with their first client, they are fully cognizant of how
to maintain Accuracy, Completeness, and Confidentiality. They also
have a keen understanding of the requirements for Impartiality,
Professionalism, Scope of Practice, and Integrity.
An interpreter’s ongoing relationship with Optimal is based
upon their performance, and their commitment to professional development.
Although our Operational infrastructure is based in Winter Park,
Florida we utilize over 1000 interpreters spread across the United
States, and we are currently serving clients with multiple locations
in four time zones. With OPI, you can rest assured that your call
will not be passed to some offshore call center using interpreters
located in a foreign country. All of your calls will be handled
immediately by qualified interpreters residing in the US. Our interpreters
live and work here, and speak the language of your specific industry.
